Note: Some caution is warranted in comparing causes of death from other years to those for 1999 and 2000. The classification system employed (the International Classification of Diseases - ICD) was revised beginning with 1999 deaths (ICD-10). This affected some causes more than others; suicide was affected minimally by these changes.
